Ephesians 5:1

“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.”

At GO, we have awesome interns that are curious and passionate about the work of Christ. They are working and learning a heart for missions and a way to help children come out of poverty and into hope through Jesus Christ. We currently have three lovely Interns; Marisa Joaquin- Communications Intern, Keeley Miller- Trips Intern, and Alexa Gere- Finance Intern.

Keeley Miller has been down to Mazatlan a few times and has recently returned from a 6 month mission to Australia and Malaysia. She has a desire to see people all over the world be healed and reached by the gospel, and to know the love of Christ. Here’s what she has to say about what the Lord has been doing in her heart, “God has been continuously showing me what it is like to genuinely love like he does. No matter where I am or what I am doing. Whether im on the ground in a different country or if Im addressing and sending a ton of envelopes to send sponsorship letters out. God is using me and showing me how to love and to always have a servants heart.”

Alexa Gere recently went to Guatemala this past summer and fell in love with the children and the city. After that trip, she realized what a difference she could be making right here in Washington, so internship was her next step. She is planning on heading back to Guatemala this summer and deepen her relationships there and spread the gospel.  She writes, “God has been showing me the heart to do mission work. He wanted people to know him and chase him because of his relentless love. Through us he is able to do that, which I never really believed until I heard so many stories of what has happened on missions.”

Marisa Joaquin has been going down to Mazatlan, Mexico for the past four years. Here’s a bit of her story of how she got involved: “When I was in middle school and had just accepted Christ, I felt a deep calling to go on a missions trip. Shortly after I heard about Mazatlan, so I went, and have never looked back. Going to Mazatlan wrecked me in the best way possible, and it changed my life forever.” She writes this about her time here at GO so far, “Out of going on my mission trip to Mazatlan, I got connected with GO and became an intern. I think that God has been teaching me to be proactive in what I am passionate about. My dreams and goals for my life will not be reached without taking action and constantly asking Jesus to be near to me and show me what He wants me to do next.”
