Flores Magon is a very large, thriving neighborhood. It is full of families and the children are happy and independent. It is a great place: a stable and calm community that welcomed a feeding center with open arms. When the feeding center opened, it was in a rented house and there was hope to find a more permanent location. That time came in 2016 when a new building was built and the feeding center moved to its permanent location, just 5 blocks away. The feeding center is located on a tall hillside with beautiful views looking out over Mazatlán.
Meet the Feeding Center Family:
A few years ago, a retired couple named Juan and Aracely began leading Flores Magon. They took on leading the feeding center because they always had an informal kids ministry of their own, inviting children into their home for Bible studies and to be everybody’s grandparents. When the opportunity arose to run a feeding center, they jumped at the chance. They started a Bible study for the senior adults in their neighborhood during the pandemic, bringing more community to Flores Magon. Children love to stay all day at the feeding center, playing and learning.
Unfortunately, in April of 2021, both Juan and Aracely became ill. Juan had bronchitis and made a full recovery, but Aracely contracted COVID-19 and passed away. The Flores Magon community was devastated by this loss. Since that time, the feeding center has been in need of a new family to take over the leadership. Please join GO in praying that the Lord brings the right family to this ministry soon.
