Amistad Familiar de Sinaloa
Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico

Amistad Familiar Church in Mazatlán was founded by Pastors Carlos and Marilu Mariñelarena.  Carlos and Marilú moved to Mazatlán from Mexico City with their daughter Gaby as missionaries in 1993. Since then they have been making disciples, preaching and teaching in the streets, prison and founded the church Amistad Familiar. Carlos passed away in February 2021, but Marilú, Gaby, and Gaby’s husband Mike Dueck, have continued to lead this vital ministry.

From the beginning, Amistad has had several outreach ministries called feeding centers throughout the poorest parts of the city.  Each feeding center is run by a family in the church, living as missionaries in their neighborhoods, feeding children a healthy meal every morning.  There are currently 11 feeding centers in Mazatlán, and 1 in Escuinapa.

Gaby and Mike Dueck run the sponsorship program for the children in the feeding centers, ensuring that children hear the good news of Jesus, have their needs met, and feel loved and cared for.

Association of Protestant Evangelical Christian Schools of Senegal (AECPES)
Thies, Senegal

The Association of Protestant Evangelical Christian Schools of Senegal oversees many Christian schools in Senegal.  Over 20 years ago a group of Senegalese Christian women set out to start a school in their city of Thies.  Most people laughed at their vision of a Christian school, until they received a large monetary gift from an American church.  That gift changed everything, and John Huffman School was born.  Since then, more and more Christian schools have popped up across Senegal, working to offer families a high quality education for any student who wants it.  The AECPES includes many different protestant denominations and has schools all over Senegal.

Direction of the Christian Schools of the Assemblies of God for Education in Senegal (DECADES)
Dakar, Senegal

The Direction of the Christian Schools of the Assemblies of God for Education in Senegal oversees all Assemblies of God schools in Senegal.  For the past 20 years, the Lord has been using Christian schools as a great tool to advance the Gospel in Senegal.  In a majority Muslim country, families desperately want their children to attend the Christian schools because they offer the best education by far.  Each DECADES school is paired with, or started from, a local Assemblies of God church.

HOPE, a division of Worship Room
San Antonio Aguas Calientes, Guatemala

HOPE exists to “provide security to the new generations by breaking the cycle of poverty through spiritual, educational and physical work.” They do this through helping children grow in: education through their tutoring program, English classes, and Music classes; health through their weekly feeding program and Sports Club; Spirit through their daily discipleship program. By helping children grow in these ways, HOPE is equipping children to break the cycle of poverty, love the Lord, and become game-changing leaders in Guatemala.

Grace School of Burkina Faso
Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso

Grace School of Burkina Faso’s mission is to bring holistic ministry among children through a quality education. Started by pastors Gerard and Viviane Ouedraogo in 2016, this school is in an area of the capital city of Burkina Faso that is suffering with extreme poverty. The children in the neighborhood do not have access to a good education or the means to attend private school. When Grace opened their doors to families, no matter if they cannot pay anything for tuition, the school went from 25 children to over 200 almost overnight. Now the school is bringing the hope and joy of Jesus to families and giving children the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty they were born into.

Centro Cultural Tikvah
Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico

Centro Cultural Tikvah is a new international, bilingual, Christian school in Mazatlán, Mexico. Tikvah is a Hebrew word for hope, so the name means International School for Hope. A long-standing dream of GO’s partners from Amistad Familiar, the school will offer an excellent education to children, many of whom would not have access to this kind of opportunity otherwise. The school launched in August of 2021 with the inaugural class of 10 first grade students.
