Sponsorship
Sponsorship is a way to be deeply and intentionally involved in the lives of the impoverished. You can make a difference in the life of a child or vocational student for just $39 a month.
GO wants you to be an active sponsor. We encourage sponsors to write letters, send small gifts, and even visit to form a meaningful relationship with the sponsored child or young adult, making connections and creating change in a real and tangible way.
Mexico
Our sponsorship programs in Mexico are located in Mazatlán and Puebla. Both well known tourist destinations, but just outside of the resorts, most of the population lives in poverty. Most children do not have the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty into which they were born, making them vulnerable. GO’s sponsorship program in Mazatlán provides these children with food every day, hope and spiritual training. In Puebla, we partner with an orphanage which serves the some of the most vulnerable children in Mexico and a school who educating these children to become global citizens.
Senegal
Since the early 1990’s the number of children living on the street has been increasing at an alarming rate in Senegal. Unemployment is a massive problem, with a rate of over 25%. Most children do not complete their education and nearly half are not in school by age 13. GO’s sponsorship program for children helps provide tuition to high-quality Christian schools where the success rate is over 98%. GO’s sponsorship program for young adults provides tuition to vocational training programs for those who did not complete a traditional education.
Burkina Faso
Routinely ranked as one of the ten countries with the worst education in the world, it is no surprise that by age 13 over 60% of children are no longer in school. The literacy rate in Burkina Faso is less than 40%, and it remains one of the poorest nations in the world. GO’s sponsorship program helps provide tuition to high-quality Christian schools where children are set up to succeed in their education and come to know the God who loves them.
Guatemala
Just outside of Antigua, Guatemala there is a town named San Antonio Aguas Calientes. The people there are warm and friendly, but many are struggling to provide for their families. Almost half of the adults did not finish school and are illiterate. Most struggle with unemployment. Children living in this area lack the access to quality education. GO’s sponsorship program helps provide these children with food, tutoring, education in English, music, and sports, and a Bible Club where they learn about the hope they can have in Jesus.
