Ron and Pat Snelling spent their lives serving the Lord. After serving in the Navy during World War II, Ron married Pat and the couple attended Whitworth College and then San Anselmo Seminary, hoping to serve as overseas missionaries. Upon graduation from seminary, Ron and Pat were sent as missionaries to Petersburg, Alaska to start a church there and work among the people of the small town and the nearby Tlingit village community. While they had dreamed of one day working as missionaries in Africa, that did not end up being part of their ministry. They raised their five children to love the Lord and they passed their love of mission on to his son, Mark, one of GO’s founders. Pat went home to the Lord in 2014, and Ron followed in 2016.
The Ron and Pat Snelling Memorial Scholarship is an ongoing fund providing the means for pastors and ministry leaders who haven’t been able to go on mission trips, to travel to see what God is doing through GO and our partners overseas. A donation to this fund will allow these pastors to engage in the mission work that the Snellings had always dreamed of doing.
