The Women’s Training Center at Yoonu Njub has worked for 20 years to address the issues of young women who have never been to school or dropped out of school. They have developed a three-year training program that equips women with practical and theoretical skills, including French literacy, that can help them find employment and become independent and empowered while exposing them to the Gospel. The Evangelical Assembly of Saint Louis began this work in the year 2000. They started with just 18 students and by the grace of God have experienced significant success and growth since then. The school is run by Malick and Feluine Fall, missionaries in the area, reaching out to their own people group, the Wolof. The school is located in Pikine, the poorest and most densely populated neighborhood of Saint Louis, Senegal.

YOONU NJUB PROJECTS

COMPLETED PROJECTS
A project that renews annually is the generation and distribution of Days For Girls kits to GO partner schools. Funded by newlife.tv Breakaway Women’s Conference, this project not only generates income for the girls making the kits, but allows those who receive the kits to not miss school!

NEXT STEPS

Everything is going well at Yoonu Njub and the staff is currently dreaming of future projects.

100% OF STUDENTS GRADUATE IN 2023!

JUNE 2023 | The year recently finished for the students at Yoonu Njub.  Those in the 1st and 2nd years took a break for summer, while 3rd year students prepared for and took their exams.  The results are in and for the second year in a row, 100% of the 3rd year students passed their CAT (nationally recognized professional competency exam)!!!

This time brings about lots of excitement at the school, both for the students and also for the staff. The culmination of a student’s tenure is a great celebration. Many young women come to Yoonu Njub without a clear path, some out of desperation, but all with hope for a better future. For graduating students, their dedication and hard work have paid off. The staff and school volunteers are all celebrating with them.

We invite you to not only celebrate the 30 young girls who are graduating but join GO on the Mission in praying for their next steps. Pray that the dreams they have will come to fruition, the seeds planted in their hearts will take root, and they will continue to seek the Lord and learn more about Him.
